March Break Day Camp for STEAM Makers (Grade 1 to 9)

This March Break, makers from Grade 1 to Grade 9 are invited to join us for 5 days of fun in Science, Tech, Engineering, Art and Math at Makerwiz’s new STEAM3D Space! Our Day Camp will run form March 12-16 from 9am to 4pm. Extended camp hours are available 8-9am and 4-6pm.

On Day 1: Science Day, we will explore the invisible world around us using digital Microscopy.

On Day 2: Tech Day, we will learn Coding with Sphero robots.

On Day 3: Engineering Day, we will explore Robotics using the UbTech Jimu platforms.

On Day 4: Art Day, we will sketch and engrave original artwork with ZMorph CNC engravers.

On Day 5: Math Day, we will design and make spirographs by 3D Printing using MakerBot 3D printers.

Additional Information

Participants are required to bring their own water bottle, snacks and nut-free lunch. Please note that only nut-free foods are allowed. Morning break (10:30-10:45am), lunch hour (12-1pm) and afternoon break (2:30-2:45pm) will be supervised. Optional: change of clothes, hat, sun block, raincoat, umbrella.

We will be contacting each ticket purchaser to provide the name, age, gender, grade and special needs of the intended participants. Please leave us a valid email address where you can be contacted.

FAQs

Are there age requirements to enter the event?

There are no strictly age requirements, but participants must be currently in Grade 1 to Grade 9.

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

Makerwiz is located in a large plaza (Upper Yonge Place) with ample parking spaces. The plaza is also conveniently co-located with the Bernard Bus Terminal, served by York Region Transit and VIVA.

What can I bring into the event?

Computer, notebook, snacks, water bottle and lunch. Phones are allowed but should only be used during morning and afternoon breaks and during lunch hour. Participants should be appropriately dressed for the weather.

Refund is possible up to 7 days in advance.
