DECORATE IT! Summer Day Camp for STEAM Makers

Summer Day Camp for STEAM Makers (Grade 1-8)
Topics: Vinyl Cutting, CNC Milling and Laser Engraving

August 6 – 9, 2019   9am – 4pm
Before and After Care available

Are you curious about Vinyl Cutters, CNC Machines and Laser Engravers? Would you like to learn how to use a desktop cutting and engraving machines to create one-of-a-kind artwork? Look no further than Makerwiz Summer Day Camp: DECORATE IT!

Vinyl Cutting, CNC Milling and Laser Engraving are popular subtractive manufacturing techniques in this age of Digital Fabrication. During cutting or engraving, material is taken away from the starting block to obtain your final product. This method is complementary to additive manufacturing (3D printing), in which materials are added layer by layer. In this 4-day Summer Camp, participants will learn about how vinyl cutters, CNC machines and laser engravers work. They will design unique patterns on paper and have them cut on paper or engraved on wood using the Silhouette Cameo 3 Vinyl Cutter and the ZMorph Multi-Tool Fabricator. Campers will compete in teams for prizes, and everyone will be able to take home their very own artwork with unique decorative 2D cutting and engraving designs.

Camp includes Movie Outing on Tuesday and Pizza Lunch on Friday, as well as outdoor activities in the afternoons (weather permitting). Due to our focus on small group, project-based learning, spaces are extremely limited. Register ASAP! Early Bird tickets are on sale until February 28 only.
